Wright State students hold an important role in Rise. Shine. The Campaign for Wright State University because they will help launch Wright State’s first ever student giving initiative. Sponsored by Wright State’s Student Philanthropy Council (SPC) and the Student Alumni Association (SAA), many events will take place to educate students on the importance of philanthropy and to help them discover the scholarships and programs at Wright State that are most meaningful to them. You can be a part of Rise. Shine. The Campaign for Wright State University in the following ways:

Opener Join the Student Philanthropy Council (SPC)

Through programming and student giving campaigns, SPC helps educate current students on the importance of philanthropy and the impact it has on their education and experiences at Wright State. To join, contact SPC’s advisor, Becky Valekis, at 937-775-3958.

You can also find SPC on Twitter and Facebook.

Opener Join the Student Alumni Association (SAA)

The mission of the Student Alumni Association is to establish life-long connections with current students, Wright State alumni, and the greater Fairborn/Dayton community. Representing nearly 100,000 alumni, SAA members are strong, innovative, and personable young adults who are proud to represent Wright State University in a positive fashion. To join, contact Brigette Gardner at 937-775-2694.

You can also find SAA on Twitter and Facebook.

Opener Feed “Penny”

Have you met Wright State’s student giving mascot, Penny the Philanthropist? Penny is a green piggy bank that was delivered to all residential students during move-in day and is handed out to commuter students throughout the year. The goal is to throw your spare change in your “Penny” piggy bank and turn it in at any SPC or SAA event to support the scholarship or program most meaningful to you. Don’t have a Penny? Contact Becky Valekis at 937-775-3958.
